Join the AACA

The Antique Automobile Club of America (AACA) has recently established a brand new display class which is very significant for Clenet Owners. This has been designated Second Generation Collector Vehicles (SGCV). Basically, this is a "non judging - display only" class for factory built neo-classic vehicles, over 25 years old, and will give us Clenet owners well deserved exposure to a large group of automotive enthusiasts.

The AACA was formed from among a small group of men who attended Antique Automobile Derbies that had began, in 1931, in connection with the Automobile Show in Philadelphia, PA. The aim of the AACA is the perpetuation of the pioneer days of automobiling by furthering the interest in and preserving of antique automobiles, and the promotion of sportsmanship and of good fellowship among all AACA members.

Currently there are about 65,000 members with more than 400 Regions and Chapters worldwide. Individual membership is only $35 per year ($21 of which is tax deductible). Register easily at www.AACA.org. The bimonthly magazine Antique Automobile, alone, is more than worth it.

Here is the step by step procedure required to register. Note that this only has to be done once for each vehicle to obtain the necessary AACA-SGCV Acceptance Card to be used for any subsequent AACA Meets. The main reason for this process is to assure only genuine cars (not look-alike kits) are registered.

  1. If you haven't already, join the AACA at www.AACA.org

  2. Fill out an Owners Authenticity Statement available here as an MS Word document. As an example of typical info needed for a Series I, click here. Note that some details may differ for your car.

    • You can obtain a Certificate of Origin substitute by contacting us and sending a photo of the engine boiler plate. An example of such a document can be seen here.

    • We can also provide Build Sheets for most Series I's. This document is optional.

    • Make a copy of your Title and attach a couple of photos including the plaque number from one of the doors.

  3. Send all attachments to Don Bohne dmbohne@aol.com OR mail to Chairman SGCV Committee, P.O. Box 1567, Crosby, TX. 77532.

  4. Repeat steps 2 and 3 for each vehicle.

You will then receive AACA-SGCV Acceptance Cards promptly to be submitted along with signing up for any AACA Meet.
